When you repeatedly show up to work late what happens? When you are caught lying to your spouse or partner what happens? When you miss deadlines at school what happens?
What usually happens is a consequence. Consequences mentally deter us from slacking off so why not apply this to the health & fitness realm of our life? Lets put ourselves on a punishment system. We are our toughest critics so perhaps we should try applying that tough love when we become discouraged.
- Plan your daily meals in advance and prep them every start of the week (Sunday) and middle of the week (Wednesday)
- Blend & freeze natural juices for busy workdays. As you work, supply your body
One thing we all have in common is
WE LOVE FOOD!
Most of us are fortunate enough to eat what we like, when we like, and how we like. It's easy to grow accustomed to eating ONLY what we LIKE! The problem with that is the unhealthy choices we unintentionally and intentionally make. To help with that, it is important to think of the
science behind food consumption
A nutritionist once told me, "Be sure to include AT LEAST three things from the food pyramid in every meal you eat." That advice stuck with me and I started to view food differently.
I made 5 lifestyle changes that helped me loose 60 pounds in 18 months postpartum. On October 13, 2015, I was 195 pounds and wore size 12-14. By July 20, 2016 I was 143 pounds and size 4-6. For motivation and inspiration, I created a 5 Step Challenge Fitness Club. Today I am 135 pounds, size 2, weight training and enrolled in NASM Personal Training Course.
What led me down this path?
I stopped dreaming of the size I wanted to be and started acting on it! Purchase the size clothing you wish to be!
We don't see the progress right away although the changes are there! Swiping through your album over a 2-3 week time span will make you so proud!
Sharing the journey to the public eye sets the bar higher for yourself. You will feel like you have something to prove and people to inspire so giving up will be a disappointment to you and discouragement to others.
Identify someone that has the body goal you want and refer to the picture weekly. Envision the person as your private mentor and use their motivation, workout techniques, and ideas to fuel your journey!
When you notice that you're becoming inconsistent, WRITE IT DOWN!
Write the unhealthy habits you need to change, write a meal plan, workout plan, and MENTALLY START OVER! The purpose is to acknowledge you're falling off and committing to the lifestyle you started. This is you taking control, not the food and your desires. Writing things down is you self-regulating your journey & reminding yourself to stay focused.
